Types of Commercial Structures

Types of Structures We Work On

commercial structuresAny type of structure is prone to foundation settlement and failure. Matthews Wall Anchors has the equipment and experience to work on any type of structure in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Not only do we provide foundation stabilization for commercial and industrial buildings, but many other types of structures. These include:

Any of these structures are vulnerable to damage and settlement due to many reasons. One of the main reasons is that the soil beneath these structures can shift and move with the changing moisture content in the soil. As the soil becomes wet, it will heave and when dry, it will shrink. As the soil constantly shifts and move beneath these structures, the structure also shifts and moves. This causes damage throughout the structure. Matthews Wall Anchor can come and inspect these structures and offer the best repair solution to get the structure structurally sound again.

Structural Repair

Whatever type of structure is in need of repair, Matthews Wall Anchor has the experience, products, and equipment to get the structure back to its original strength. Some of the solutions we offer are:

Piling solutions: We will choose the best piling method, depending on the soil condition and the nature of the project. Depending on the project, we use augercast piles or micropiles.

Underpinning solutions: Our underpinning products, such as steel piers, will lift and level your foundation back to its original level and keep it structurally sound. These piers are driven deep into the ground through unstable soil layers until they reach a solid soil layer. Then each pier is load tested. After testing, the entire structure is lifted onto the piers using hydraulic jacks. This will level and stabilize the structure.

Shoring solutions: We use plate anchors for shoring solutions. These plate anchors are fabricated from two 10-gauge plates and have four reinforcing ribs and four cleats providing approximately 320 square inches of soil bearing surface.

All of the products we use for structure repair are manufactured by Earth Contact Products (ECP), the leader in the manufacturing of foundation repair products in the industry today. We also offer the services of our structural contractor, to give you the peace of mind that the project is in qualified hands.
