Issue: Water leaking into the basement through the foundation

Matthews Waterproofing systems

This waterproofing job was unique, in that the home had a stone foundation and no footer. The water was coming through the solid stone. We installed a main sump pump with a battery backup. The pump discharged to a downspout, keeping the basement dry.

We wanted to make sure we protected the personal property of the homeowner, so we hung plastic and covered what we couldn’t move. We used an electric jackhammer with a vacuum system to minimize the amount of dust in the home, as we made a hole for the sump pit and the drainpipe.

The homeowners were very happy to have a dry basement area that they could use without worrying about their property being damaged.
